With that amount of patreons getting retained and him not losing money why would he not be an arrogant bastard now days as i said above more than 95% of the games released is getting released for quick cash grab and that's it they will never be completed ever...and this shit behaviour will never change as long there is (Sorry but it's the truth) fucking morons that pledge and still are patreons as long as this shit is not changed and people stop encouraging scamming this kind of behavior will never stop
maybe I should start a patreon and make a random game. easy money, if people are going to give free money why refuse.
remember when it was said that v0.17 would be released in winter 22/23, and now 23 is "almost over" too? ^^

We can blame him and all the other abusers but they get away with it. They cash in dollars of so many people. And they realize how easy it is. First they gonna slack over time and provide less value. It's because they lose motivation if they still get payed regardless of what they do. And it's easy to say all are ass holes and cash milkers but they can't help themselves. The problem lies with the system. First they start and by reaching more and more people who want to support you, you feel motivated. You see cash flows in if people like your art. But then the rewards keeps on flooding in even when you know you didn't gave it your all. It's demotivating. You need rewards for your work. And it doesn't count anymore if you get it even when you took a 3 month holiday...to ibiza.
To keep it short, what is meant to be a reward/motivator for the artist turns into a tempting free money bonus. It's the system that sucks, and need to be changed. It must not be possible to provide 0 value and earn 100s or 1000s worth of "support" money. We are being robbed.
